The role sits within Defence Counterintelligence and the Counterintelligence and Personnel Security function. Work includes collecting, evaluating and analysing information, producing strategic and operational intelligence products, assessing threats and vulnerabilities, delivering briefings and supporting counterintelligence capability. NZDF says intelligence or government experience is useful but not essential and provides formal and on-the-job development. The role requires domestic and international travel as needed.
