The New Zealand Ministry of Justice is recruiting a permanent full-time Court Security Officer for Hamilton District Court, with accredited training and progression opportunities.

Full job description

The role supports a safe court environment through security screening, CCTV and access-control operation, public-area patrols, building security checks, duress-alarm response, incident reporting and coordination with Police, Corrections, lawyers and judicial officers. It is a 40-hour Monday-to-Friday role, with paid overtime and occasional Saturday cover. Hamilton is the home base, with travel to neighbouring courts when operationally required.

Requirements & qualifications

Customer service, security, defence or government experience is desired but not essential because full training is provided. Applicants must be confident with technology, able to meet full-contact officer-safety training requirements, hold and maintain a full clean New Zealand driver licence and a clean criminal record including Police vetting, and meet the cultural-awareness expectations described in the official vacancy.
