Overview
The Angelicum Faculty of Social Sciences is offering six CREATE post-doctoral scholarships for one-year research projects running from February 2027 to February 2028, with a focus on Catholic social teaching and contemporary social challenges.
Complete scholarship details
Selected researchers develop their projects primarily in their home countries and institutions in collaboration with FASS professors, with four intensive programme weeks, at least three in Rome. The scholarship package includes a €4,000 postdoctoral research fund contribution to living expenses, Angelicum academic fees, supervision by a FASS professor, accommodation and lunches during four intensive visits, a modest travel/other-cost fund, publication of the research and an institutional presentation event.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants are normally young graduates from Central and Eastern Europe, usually ages 25–40, holding a 120-credit second-cycle degree and a doctorate in a relevant field. Listed fields include ethics/Catholic social teaching, sociology, psychology, anthropology, economics, business, social communications, political science, history, law, international relations and engineering; theology or philosophy may also qualify where coursework demonstrates interest in social questions. English B1 is required, with B2 preferred, together with a proposed postdoctoral research project aligned with the programme.
Tips for this scholarship
Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.
- Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
- Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
- Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
- Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.
Verification notes
Verified from the Angelicum's official 13 July 2026 call and its three-page official PDF. Six scholarships are stated. The PDF confirms the €4,000 research-fund/living-expense contribution and other covered costs, and gives 31 October 2026 as the application deadline without a time or timezone; only deadline_date is stored.
