It can be up to two days per week and will finish in September 2027.As a Data Analyst, you will be part of our Data Services team, helping make health data accessible, trusted and useful. You'll extract, manipulate and analyse data to identify trends, generate evidence and provide insights that support priority areas of work across the health system.As your role is fixed term and part time, this job will focus on discrete pieces of work and specific projects related to analytics and data sharing.This is a varied role where you'll combine technical expertise with strong relationship-building skills. You'll develop efficient and reusable code, contribute to improving data systems and processes, and communicate analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.About the Team and LocationYou'll join a collaborative Data Services team working alongside data and analytical teams across Health New Zealand. The team works with a wide range of health datasets and partners across the health and government sectors.About youYou'll have good knowledge of data and analytics; and technical skills using programming languages such as SQL, R, or Python. You'll be confident extracting, manipulating and analysing data and turning complex information into clear, meaningful insights.You'll also bring strong communication and stakeholder skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts in a clear and understandable way. To be effective in this role, you'll need existing knowledge and experience of Health New Zealand's national administrative datasets.You will bring:Strong analytical and technical capability in data analytics.Experience extracting, manipulating and analysing data to generate evidence and insights.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.A strong client focus and ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders.Sound judgement and an understanding of data privacy, ethics and appropriate data use.Excellent organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.Curiosity, adaptability and a commitment to continuous improvement and developing your technical skills.A collaborative approach, with high standards of professionalism, integrity and attention to detail.Working at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
