Our organization is a dynamic and innovative provider of essential infrastructure for the digital economy, serving as both a developer and investor with a primary focus on data centres and logistics real estate. Since 2020, we have started expanding our CE portfolio to include cutting-edge data centre development projects and are therefore growing our Data Centre team across Continental Europe . Goodman is seeking an (senior) experienced Data Centre Business Development Manager (based in Frankfurt) to join our expanding Data Centre team. The ideal candidate is self-motivated to build up sustainable structures and will drive new sales as well as revenue growth in Germany. The primary focus of the role is to originate, develop and convert data centre leasing opportunities across the German market, with a particular focus on Frankfurt and other major DC hubs in Germany. The role will engage with a broad range of data centre customers and partners, identifying requirements across different capacity, deployment and commercial models. Your proactive, hunter mindset will be crucial as you engage with target customers, attend industry events, workshops, and fairs, and manage the entire lead-to-contract process. You are expected to use consultative selling skills along with a strong understanding of the data centre and technology industries to discover opportunities and originate and convert leasing opportunities across the data centre market, supporting the commercialisation of Goodman’s growing data centre platform. You will be able to demonstrate consistent historic success in developing new client relationships by meeting or exceeding sales targets in the sector. More concretely, this means you will get the opportunity to: Originate and develop leasing opportunities Build and execute a commercial strategy to identify and secure data centre customers, with a particular focus on the Frankfurt market and additionally other major DC hubs in Germany. Originate opportunities across a broad range of customer requirements, deployment sizes and commercial structures. Develop and maintain a strong pipeline through direct customer engagement, industry relationships and the broader data centre ecosystem. Contribute market and customer insights to Goodman's data centre development and commercial strategy in Germany. Build Strategic Customer Relationships Develop a medium- and long-term strategy to drive Goodman’s growth and success. Develop trusted, long-term relationships with senior decision-makers across the data centre customer ecosystem. Understand customers' current and future capacity, location, technical and commercial requirements and translate these into opportunities for Goodman. Position Goodman's data centre platform and development capabilities against customer requirements. Act as a market expert, representing Goodman at industry events and customer engagements Lead complex sales opportunities Manage opportunities from initial engagement and qualification through commercial negotiations and contract execution. Coordinate internal resources to deliver tailored commercial and technical solutions. Lead and support responses to customer requirements, RFPs and structured procurement processes. Extensive knowledge and technical understanding of DC-related services Do you recognize yourself? Minimum of 5-10 years of proven success in a consultative selling area, ideally engaging with C-level executives in the data centre, cloud, digital infrastructure, technology or related sectors. Strong knowledge of the German data centre ecosystem, with an established network and deep understanding of the Frankfurt market. Profound understanding of different DC operational and business models (e.g. Hyperscale and Colo) Proven track record of originating, developing and closing complex data centre commercial or leasing opportunities. In-depth knowledge of and skilled in contract interpretation, negotiations and project management. Strength in problem-solving, issue-resolution, ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask. Fluency in English, and German (other languages are an asset). Excellent written, numerical and communication capabilities. Energy, enthusiasm and strong self-motivational skills. Who will you be working with? You will join our German team of approximately 55 professionals, 20 of them are based in Frankfurt. In this role, you will work closely with colleagues from our Marketing and Data Centre Delivery teams across Continental Europe, collaborating with a diverse group of experts to drive business growth and deliver successful customer outcomes.
