Meet Sievo

Full job description

Meet Sievo We are Sievo – the leading procurement analytics SaaS company from Finland. We help the largest companies in the world, household brands like Levi’s, Kellogg’s and Mars, to generate cost savings, understand their procurement data, make data-driven decisions, reduce emissions, drive supply chain resilience, and beyond. Each year, we process spend equivalent to 2% of the global GDP. Pretty cool, right? At the core of our success are talented people from all over the world with different backgrounds and perspectives. Our 400+ Sievonians are based across Helsinki, Chicago, Bucharest and London. Our core values are caring, exceeding, and honesty - values that make us grow bigger and better, not bigger and bitter. About the role Join our dynamic team and help us build, optimize, and maintain cutting-edge data integration solutions for global clients. As a Data Engineer, you'll work closely with customers to understand their data needs, design effective solutions, and ensure smooth implementation for long-term success. We’re looking for a problem-solver with strong technical skills and a passion for making data work in real-world applications. If you excel at translating complex requirements into practical outcomes and thrive in collaborative, client-facing environments, we’d love to hear from you. We welcome candidates with experience in data engineering, analysis, management, or similar fields, especially those eager to transition into a customer-facing role. What you’ll be responsible for

  • Gather requirements from new and existing clients to define and design the necessary data integration processes.
  • Implement new data integrations, ensuring the solution is maintainable and adheres to Sievo's best practices.
  • Plan and estimate the data engineering work required for a project and ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate closely with customers and internal stakeholders, including Project Managers, Solution Consultants, and Data Management teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment.
  • Provide excellent customer support and communication throughout the project. To succeed in this role, you have:
  • Proficiency in SQL is a must-have skill.
  • Some hands-on experience with cloud data technologies, preferably Azure (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks).
  • Experience working directly with external clients or internal business units to gather requirements and provide technical support.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical client stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and logical thinking skills, including troubleshooting and solving data quality and integration issues.
  • Ability to manage project tasks independently, take full ownership of deliverables, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Extra points if you have
  • Experience in Microsoft SSIS, SQL server and Python.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Background in data engineering, data integration, data analysis, ERP consulting, or related fields.
  • Procurement knowledge. At Sievo, we celebrate and support differences and strive to create a culture where everyone feels valued and included. As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we do not discriminate against any individual in hiring or employment based on gender, gender identity or expression, age, ethnic or national origin, nationality, language, religion or belief, opinion, disability, state of health, sexual orientation, or other personal reasons. We acknowledge the impact of imposter syndrome during job search, especially for underrepresented groups. If you're interested in the position and believe that you have the potential to excel in it, we encourage you to apply.
