What will you do...
We’re seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our growing technology team. This role is ideal for professionals with deep expertise in MySQL database management and a passion for building reliable, scalable data infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain high-performance database environments that support mission-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain relational database systems.
- Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to optimize efficiency.
- Perform database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Ensure database security, user access management, and compliance with company policies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in production and development environments.
- Develop and maintain database documentation, standards, and procedures.
- Support application development teams with database design and query optimization.
- Monitor database health, capacity, and storage utilization.
- Implement high availability and replication solutions where required.
- Execute database migrations, upgrades, and patch management activities.
Qualifications and requirements
What you bring...
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 4 years experience in managing MySQL databases in large-scale environments
- Proficient in MySQL sharding architecture and clustering techniques
- Hands-on experience with HAProxy, ProxySQL, or MaxScale
- Familiarity with AWS database services (Aurora, RDS, etc.)
- Strong Linux/Unix administration skills
- Experience with disaster recovery, data replication, and performance tuning
- MS SQL experience is a plus
- SaaS or cloud-based infrastructure experience is an advantage.
