Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Delphi Developer for a Sustainability SaaS based in Ireland. This role offers the opportunity to apply your Delphi expertise to software that supports sustainability and climate-focused decision-making. You will develop, maintain, and modernize core applications while helping improve their quality, performance, scalability, and usability. The position combines hands-on software engineering with collaboration across Product, QA, and development teams. You will work on complex technical challenges, integrate applications with APIs and databases, and contribute to the evolution of established platforms. The role also provides opportunities to support migrations toward newer technologies and improve long-term maintainability. You will join a highly international, expert team where autonomy, open communication, and continuous improvement are encouraged. With a fully remote European setup, this is an opportunity to make a direct technical contribution to technology supporting the transition toward a lower-carbon future.

Design, develop, enhance, and maintain applications using Delphi, Object Pascal, and related technologies. Collaborate with Product Managers, QA Engineers, and fellow developers to deliver new functionality and improve existing features. Write efficient, maintainable, and reliable code, including solutions involving complex algorithms. Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and other quality-assurance activities. Analyse and optimise application performance, scalability, reliability, and overall user experience. Integrate applications with external and internal technologies, including APIs, databases, and web components. Produce and maintain technical specifications, development documentation, processes, and code documentation. Contribute to the modernization of existing software and the migration of selected functionality to newer platforms where appropriate. Identify technical improvements and contribute to development practices that support long-term maintainability. Work independently on assigned initiatives while collaborating effectively with distributed, cross-functional teams. Requirements Strong professional experience with Delphi and a solid understanding of Object Pascal and Delphi frameworks. Demonstrated ability to design and implement efficient, maintainable, and complex algorithms. Practical experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL. Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, engineering best practices, testing, debugging, and code quality. Strong problem-solving skills combined with a methodical approach and attention to detail. Ability to understand complex technical requirements and translate them into robust software solutions. Comfortable working independently and taking ownership while also contributing effectively within a collaborative, remote-first team. Strong written and verbal English communication skills, as English is the working language. Experience with Python and C#/.NET is an advantage. Interest in software modernization, new technologies, and continuously improving development practices is valued. Benefits Fully remote working opportunity for candidates based in Europe. Full-time, permanent employment. Substantial autonomy and flexibility in how you organise your work. Opportunity to work on software contributing to sustainability, decarbonisation, and climate-focused initiatives. Meaningful technical challenges with substantial responsibility and visible impact. Competitive compensation. Professional development and continuous learning opportunities. Supportive, friendly, and highly knowledgeable international team. Low-hierarchy environment with open communication and a strong culture of autonomy. Collaboration with colleagues representing more than 40 nationalities. Social events and opportunities to connect with an international team. Opportunity to contribute directly to technology supporting the transition toward a zero-carbon future.
