Overview

Danish research institutions can lead 2–4 year collaborations with partners in Canada, Japan or South Korea and request DKK 2–8 million per project.

Complete grant details

Innovation Fund Denmark's Global Research Collaborations programme supports ambitious research and technology collaborations in strategically important areas. A Danish research institution must lead and collaborate with a research organisation in Canada, Japan or South Korea. The programme has at least DKK 49 million available; individual projects may request DKK 2–8 million and can run for two to four years. Funding may cover salaries, equipment and materials, travel and stays, external services, and networking activities.

Eligibility requirements

The main applicant must be a Danish research institution. The project must include a research-organisation partner from one of the selected focus countries: Canada, Japan or South Korea. Applications must document the international collaboration and address strategic relevance, research quality, impact for Denmark, execution and budget requirements.

Tips for this grant

Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.

  1. Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
  2. Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
  3. Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
  4. Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.

Verification notes

Verified on Innovation Fund Denmark's official programme page on 27 August 2026. The page states the 3 September 2026 12:00 deadline, Danish lead requirement, Canada/Japan/South Korea focus countries, DKK 2–8m project range, at least DKK 49m pool and e-grant submission route. Because the page labels the time CET while Denmark observes summer time in September, the machine deadline is left null and the official wording is preserved.
