About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Design Manager to lead the design journey from tender through to practical completion. Working alongside project teams, clients, consultants and stakeholders, you'll drive innovative, practical and buildable design solutions that deliver exceptional project outcomes.
This is a hands-on role where you'll have the opportunity to influence major projects, collaborate with talented professionals and help shape the built environment across a diverse range of sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the design process from tender to practical completion.
- Manage consultants and design teams to achieve project objectives.
- Drive value engineering and buildability outcomes that enhance project performance.
- Ensure designs meet client requirements, budgets, program milestones and compliance obligations.
- Coordinate design reviews, approvals and stakeholder engagement.
- Identify and manage design risks while proactively resolving project challenges.
- Provide technical leadership and support throughout procurement and construction phases.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, consultants, authorities and internal teams.
About You
You are a proactive and collaborative Design Manager who enjoys solving problems, building relationships and delivering quality outcomes.
To be successful, you'll have:
- Qualifications in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Proven experience managing design on commercial construction projects (Healthcare highly desirable).
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary consultant teams.
- Sound knowledge of construction methodologies, design coordination and project delivery.
- Strong understanding of the NCC, Australian Standards and statutory requirements.
- Experience delivering projects with Green Star and/or NABERS accreditation requirements will be highly regarded.
