Position Description

The DevSecOps Engineer plays a key role in building, deploying, and maintaining the new cloud-based FSA IAM system. This position integrates development, security, and operations practices to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performing IAM capabilities through modern cloud-native architecture and Agile processes.

Responsibilities

The DevSecOps Engineer ensures the IAM solution uses a cloud-centric architecture (IDaaS, PaaS, SaaS) that is highly available in an Active-Active configuration. They support the consolidation of AIMS and PAS into a single modern solution while maintaining segregation of user data. The role focuses on rapid and reliable delivery of code changes, unit testing, code reviews, integration into the product build process, automated and manual testing (with emphasis on automated unit and regression testing), and deployment into higher environments including production. They lead evergreening activities by planning and executing upgrades of infrastructure, COTS/GOTS products, support software, and frameworks to at least N-1 versions. Additional responsibilities include environment support tasks such as architecture sizing and tuning, design specifications, monitoring for anomalies, change and release management, patching, certificate renewal, problem management, and supporting application and environment configurations. The engineer also contributes to broader compliance efforts including security controls, data planning, federal records/CUI handling, IT accessibility (Section 508), technology business management reporting, and project/risk/schedule management.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Proficiency in cloud-native technologies and highly available architectures
  • Solid understanding of automated testing, code review processes, and deployment strategies
  • Knowledge of evergreening, patching, and technology refreshment in federal environments
  • Ability to perform system tuning, monitoring, and anomaly detection
  • Familiarity with federal compliance requirements (FedRAMP, FISMA, RMF, Section 508)
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills across development, security, and operations teams
  • Problem-solving skills for troubleshooting complex environment and deployment issues
  • Proficiency with modern DevSecOps tools and scripting
  • Ability to work effectively in an Agile environment with frequent releases

$93k-$128K
