DFF’s International Postdoctoral Grant supports early-career researchers with a two-year independent research project that includes substantial research mobility at an institution outside Denmark.

Applicants may request up to DKK 1,550,000 excluding overhead. The project lasts two years and must include at least 12 consecutive months abroad. Up to six months at the beginning and/or up to 12 months at the end may be spent at a Danish research institution. Eligible costs can include one outbound and one inbound journey and bench fees; additional support may be requested for an accompanying partner or children under DFF rules.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must have obtained a PhD from a Danish institution, or equivalent qualifications, normally no more than three years before the application deadline. A PhD student may apply if the thesis is expected to be submitted for defence within 12 months after the deadline and a supervisor declaration is attached. Applicants cannot apply for a stay at a foreign institution where they have spent a total of 12 months or more during the previous three years.
