Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Business Operations based in United States. This role owns workforce management for a major revenue channel, with responsibility for clinician capacity, retention, utilization, and credentialing throughput. You’ll connect operational performance directly to revenue, gross margin, and unit economics, creating clear visibility into the drivers behind business results. Working across Clinical, Recruiting, Credentialing, Operations, Finance, Product, Engineering, and Go-to-Market, you’ll influence teams without relying on direct reporting lines. The position combines hands-on analysis with strategic operational leadership, requiring you to investigate problems, identify root causes, and turn insights into action. You’ll build repeatable systems for forecasting supply and demand, improving workforce performance, and reducing operational friction as the organization scales. AI, automation, analytics, and process optimization will be important tools for making workflows more efficient and scalable. This fully remote opportunity is suited to an execution-oriented operator who is comfortable with ambiguity, owns measurable outcomes, and communicates effectively with senior executives.

Own workforce management across clinician capacity planning, retention, utilization, and credentialing throughput. Translate workforce performance into revenue, gross margin, cost, and unit-economic implications, making key tradeoffs visible to stakeholders. Analyze operational and financial data directly to identify performance trends, root causes, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Build forecasts that anticipate clinician supply and demand and surface potential capacity gaps early enough for Recruiting, Credentialing, Clinical, and Operations teams to respond. Establish and monitor performance metrics covering clinician hiring, onboarding, available slots, sessions attended, utilization, retention, workforce mix, and related outcomes. Partner with Clinical leadership on clinical review operations, including workflows, throughput, service-level agreements, and operational dependencies, while leaving clinical judgment and quality ownership with Clinical teams. Turn data, forecasts, and operational insights into clear recommendations and priorities for cross-functional leaders. Influence teams across Clinical, Recruiting, Credentialing, Operations, Finance, Product, Engineering, and Go-to-Market without relying on direct authority. Develop and execute continuous optimization initiatives focused on access, utilization, retention, cost efficiency, margin, and scalability. Lead root-cause investigations when performance shifts and develop practical recovery plans before issues become larger operational problems. Identify opportunities to use AI, automation, and lightweight technology solutions to reduce manual work and improve analysis and workflows. Build documented, repeatable operating processes that replace one-off solutions and scale with business growth. Provide executives with clear visibility into program performance, operational risks, financial impact, tradeoffs, and corrective actions. Support the scaling of the clinician and session workforce while maintaining operational performance and healthy program economics. Requirements: Demonstrated experience in workforce management or capacity planning, including forecasting supply and demand, managing a distributed or contract workforce, or scaling a service delivery organization. Experience owning complex operational programs with direct accountability for measurable business outcomes such as revenue, gross margin, utilization, retention, or cost. Strong analytical skills and the ability to independently investigate large or complex datasets, identify trends and root causes, and turn findings into actionable decisions. Strong business and financial acumen, with an understanding of how operational decisions affect revenue, unit economics, costs, and gross margin. Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders who do not report directly to you and navigate competing priorities or disagreements. Strong prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple operational workstreams in an environment where priorities can change quickly. Track record of turning ambiguous, manual, or one-off processes into documented, repeatable, scalable systems. Practical experience using AI as an operational tool for analysis, automation, process improvement, or reducing manual work. Willingness to work hands-on, including investigating individual cases, reviewing dashboards, reconciling conflicting information, building lightweight solutions, and testing processes directly. Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to turn complex operational findings into concise recommendations and clearly explain tradeoffs. Experience with SQL, Google Apps Script, Looker, comparable business intelligence tools, workflow automation, or lightweight internal tools is a plus. Experience in telehealth, behavioral health, K-12, health plan partnerships, or another operationally complex healthcare environment is desirable. Ability to operate effectively in a fast-scaling environment with significant autonomy and cross-functional responsibility. Benefits: Base salary range of $165,000–$185,000 per year. Bonus compensation of up to $15,000 per year. Equity package. Medical, dental, and vision coverage, with a significant portion of premiums covered for employees and dependents. 401(k) retirement plan. Flexible and unlimited time off. Company holidays. Quarterly mental health days. Fully remote work from anywhere in the United States. Opportunity to take ownership of a high-impact operational function with direct visibility into revenue and business performance. Cross-functional exposure across Clinical, Operations, Finance, Recruiting, Credentialing, Product, Engineering, and Go-to-Market. Opportunity to use AI, automation, analytics, and operational systems to solve complex scaling challenges. Professional growth in a rapidly scaling healthcare environment focused on expanding access to youth mental health support.
