Director, Enterprise Architecture & Engineering

Our partner is looking for a Director, Enterprise Architecture & Engineering based in United States. The Director, Enterprise Architecture & Engineering will set enterprise technical direction while building an engineering organization capable of scaling with a growing business. The role goes beyond Salesforce, connecting CRM, custom software, data, integration, cloud, security, DevOps, analytics, and AI into secure and resilient solutions. You will lead complex architecture decisions, establish engineering standards, and develop scalable approaches to AI and agentic systems. You will also manage engineers and technical leaders, strengthen technical leadership, and shape organizational capabilities. Working closely with executive client stakeholders, Sales, and Delivery, you will connect technology decisions to business outcomes and client value. This is a highly strategic and hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced technology leader comfortable navigating complex environments, ambiguity, and rapid growth.

Set enterprise architecture strategy, principles, decision rights, and reusable reference patterns across client engagements. Lead complex architecture decisions and design reviews, balancing business value, security, scalability, reliability, maintainability, and cost. Define how Salesforce, Apex, Python, APIs, data, integration, cloud services, and analytics work together across enterprise solutions. Establish standardized engineering practices covering source control, peer review, automated testing, CI/CD, environments, release management, observability, rollback, and incident learning. Develop production AI and agentic engineering standards covering data grounding, model and tool integration, evaluation, guardrails, human oversight, telemetry, security, cost, and lifecycle management. Evaluate Salesforce Data 360/Data Cloud, Informatica, MuleSoft, Agentforce, Claude, cloud data platforms, and other technologies based on business requirements and architectural evidence. Embed security, privacy, compliance, identity, access controls, encryption, secrets management, audit logging, resilience, vulnerability management, and incident response into engineering practices. Manage engineers and technical leaders, overseeing hiring, performance, coaching, career development, succession planning, staffing, capacity, and team health. Develop Principal- and Lead-level technical talent through clear expectations, capability paths, communities of practice, architecture reviews, and reusable examples. Build trusted relationships with client CIOs, CTOs, enterprise architects, security leaders, data leaders, and platform owners. Partner with Sales and Delivery on qualification, discovery, solution design, estimation, technical risk, executive presentations, and delivery commitments. Connect technical strategy to client outcomes, delivery quality, operating costs, resilience, revenue, margins, pipeline, retention, and account growth. Develop differentiated technical offerings, reference architectures, accelerators, and points of view that strengthen enterprise capabilities. Establish lightweight governance and decision-making processes that improve technical quality without slowing delivery. Requirements: 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, engineering, or technical consulting, including leadership across complex client programs or technical capabilities. Deep Salesforce architecture and engineering expertise, including Apex, Lightning, platform limits, data and sharing design, integration, security, environments, packaging, and release management. Salesforce Certified Technical Architect certification is highly preferred. Strong engineering expertise beyond Salesforce, including Python, APIs, event-driven architectures, SQL, JavaScript or TypeScript, testing, automation, and application design patterns. Broad enterprise technology experience across Salesforce Data 360/Data Cloud, Informatica, MuleSoft or comparable integration platforms, cloud data platforms, AWS/Azure/GCP services, DevOps, and observability. Proven production experience with AI or agentic systems, including grounding, orchestration, evaluation, guardrails, observability, security, cost management, human oversight, and lifecycle management. Experience designing secure systems in regulated environments and translating requirements such as HIPAA, HITRUST, FedRAMP, NIST, SOC 2, and privacy obligations into practical technical controls. Demonstrated ability to standardize CI/CD, automated quality and security controls, environment and release strategies, deployment evidence, rollback processes, and operational feedback across teams. Significant people-management experience leading engineers and technical leaders, developing successors, and improving quality while fostering trust and accountability. Proven experience scaling engineering organizations and contributing to business growth through talent development, operating systems, reusable technology, disciplined investment, and delivery excellence. Strong executive, client, and commercial judgment, with the ability to communicate complex technical tradeoffs, make decisions through ambiguity, and remain accountable for outcomes. Ability to work collaboratively across technical, commercial, and client-facing functions while maintaining momentum in complex and rapidly changing environments.
