Full job description

We're seeking a Director of People Operations who combines deep expertise in HR operations, compliance, and operational excellence with genuine and strategic business partnership instincts. Reporting to the SVP, Global People Operations, you will lead all aspects of People Operations for our offices in India and will work as a part of our global People Operations team to architect programs, processes and systems that enable our people and our business to scale.

This role is not about just about organizing office celebrations or managing people data and policies in isolation. This role will require you to be a strategic advisor to our leadership teams, a trusted presence and advisor to our employees, a custodian of process and compliance, and an owner of our culture and employee experience.

HR Operations & Systems

Own the full HR operations functions for the region including onboarding, payroll coordination, benefits management, compliance, and employee data. Build and maintain processes that keep operations running smoothly. Create documentation and workflows that scale as we grow. Understand, identify, and solution issues and communicate proactively with regional and global leadership teams. Own and manager HR data.

Strategic Business Partnership

Partner with department heads and executives to translate business strategy into programs and solutions that systematically support employee and business growth. Support headcount planning tied to revenue goals. Advise on organizational restructuring when business needs change. Identify talent gaps before they become problems. You think like a business operator, not an HR administrator.

Employee Experience & Culture

Oversee programs that attract, develop, and retain top talent. Work with leadership to define culture in a growing organization. Measure engagement. Support learning and development initiatives. You make Blend a place where exceptional people want to build their careers.

Qualifications and requirements

People Operations Experience

• 10 or more years of HR operations and business partner experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HR role.
• Experience building and managing HR processes from the ground up.
• Mastery of regional compliance and reporting requirements, payroll, benefits and compensation.
• Strong HR technology and HRIS experience, Workday preferred.

Regional Expertise

• Deep knowledge of Indian labor law, employment practices, and regulatory landscape.
• Familiarity with local hiring practices and compensation benchmarking in India.
• Experience helping leaders from other regions understand local labor requirements and enabling them to manage their teams with the proper cultural nuance.

Business Orientation

• Ability to learn and understand how a business operates and the financial decisions related to People Operations decisions.
• Solution-oriented
• Commitment to data accuracy and creating dashboards that enable strong decision-making.

Communication & Collaboration

• Strong communication skills; honest, direct and proactive
• Collaborative team player who builds trust quickly, partners across the organization, and is not territorial.
• Tenacious, comfortable operating in ambiguous and fast-paced environments.
