Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Pharmacy Solutions (Oncology) based in the United States. This is a strategic, practice-facing leadership role focused on optimizing oncology pharmacy strategy across an assigned portfolio of practices. You will serve as a trusted pharmacy partner to clinical, physician, operational, and financial leaders. The role combines oncology expertise, drug strategy, analytics, market access, reimbursement, and practice operations. You will translate enterprise priorities into practical strategies that improve therapy selection, patient access, operational performance, and economic sustainability. Working across a matrixed environment, you will coordinate resources, remove barriers, and drive implementation through measurable outcomes. The position also contributes field insight to broader pharmacy initiatives, governance, and continuous improvement programs. This is a remote U.S. opportunity with travel of up to 30% for practice engagement, internal meetings, and relevant industry events.
Own strategic relationships with an assigned portfolio of oncology practices, serving as the primary pharmacy partner and maintaining structured account plans, engagement cadences, and performance reviews. Build trusted relationships with pharmacy, physician, operations, and finance leaders while developing a strong understanding of each practice’s priorities, risks, opportunities, and operating environment. Lead drug strategy and therapy optimization by integrating clinical evidence, treatment pathways, P&T guidance, utilization trends, reimbursement, payer requirements, manufacturer dynamics, patient access considerations, and practice economics. Develop practice-specific strategies covering formulary and preferred-product adoption, payer alignment, patient access, workflow readiness, dispensing and administration operations, and changing product-life-cycle dynamics. Translate broader pharmacy priorities into actionable implementation plans, assess organizational readiness, align stakeholders, manage change, and monitor adoption and performance through stabilization. Analyze clinical, financial, operational, access, dispensing, administration, and utilization data to identify performance gaps and opportunities and develop decision-ready recommendations. Track adoption, access, economic, operational, and patient-care outcomes and use findings to refine strategies and support continuous improvement. Coordinate cross-functional execution across operations, finance, analytics, technology, payer, manufacturer, physician-governance, research, and related teams. Identify and resolve barriers, align enterprise resources with practice needs, and ensure solutions are implemented effectively with minimal operational friction. Lead or contribute to priority initiatives, Pharmacy & Therapeutics committees or subcommittees, governance activities, and improvement programs. Share field intelligence, emerging market insights, and scalable practices to strengthen broader pharmacy strategy and execution. Requirements PharmD or equivalent pharmacy degree required; an MBA, MHA, MS, or other advanced degree is preferred. Typically 10+ years of relevant professional experience, with fewer years potentially considered for candidates holding relevant Master’s or Doctorate qualifications. At least 8 years of progressive experience in oncology pharmacy, community oncology, healthcare operations, drug strategy, market access, or a closely related field. Demonstrated experience partnering with oncology practices or health-system leaders to improve clinical, financial, operational, access, or quality outcomes. Strong knowledge of community oncology and the broader oncology landscape, including drug strategy, therapy optimization, clinical evidence, treatment pathways, utilization management, dispensing and administration, reimbursement, payer dynamics, patient access, manufacturer relationships, drug economics, and regulatory requirements. Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects or portfolios within matrixed organizations and influence stakeholders without direct authority. Experience applying clinical, financial, and operational data to identify opportunities, formulate recommendations, and measure outcomes. Strong strategic account and portfolio management skills, including prioritization, planning, stakeholder coordination, risk management, and accountable follow-through. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex clinical, financial, and operational concepts clearly to physicians, executives, pharmacy leaders, operational teams, and technical stakeholders. Strong analytical judgment and decision-making skills, including the ability to evaluate incomplete information, identify assumptions and limitations, and translate insights into action. Demonstrated change-leadership capabilities and the ability to anticipate adoption barriers, align stakeholders, and sustain performance following implementation. Board certification in oncology pharmacy is preferred. Experience with advanced therapies, value-based care, medically integrated dispensing, or specialty pharmacy is preferred. Must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Benefits Remote work opportunity within the United States, subject to applicable company policy. Base salary range of $138,600–$231,000 . Eligibility for additional compensation, which may include an annual bonus and/or long-term incentive awards. Comprehensive benefits as part of a broader total rewards program. Opportunities to work on strategic oncology pharmacy initiatives with meaningful clinical, operational, and patient-access implications. Up to 30% travel for practice engagement, internal meetings, and relevant industry events. Equal employment opportunity and reasonable accommodation support for qualified candidates. General office-based working environment with flexibility associated with the remote position.
