Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Directeur.trice de comptes based in Canada. This role combines strategic account management, business development, and client relationship leadership within a digital services environment. You will be responsible for growing an established portfolio while developing new business opportunities and strengthening long-term partnerships. Working closely with product, design, development, and delivery teams, you will translate client objectives into actionable growth opportunities. You will lead qualified opportunities through discovery, proposals, negotiations, and contract closure while acting as a trusted strategic advisor. The position offers significant autonomy and requires strong commercial judgment, disciplined follow-up, and confidence engaging with senior decision-makers. You will also contribute to industry events, account planning, pipeline development, and cross-functional initiatives that support sustainable growth. This is an opportunity to play a central role in building lasting client relationships and expanding custom digital solutions.
Manage a portfolio of active accounts and identify opportunities to expand mandates and increase client value. Build and maintain account plans for key clients in collaboration with project and delivery teams, defining business objectives, development priorities, and medium-term roadmaps. Take ownership of qualified business opportunities from discovery through proposal, negotiation, and contract signature. Contribute to requests for proposals by providing industry expertise, supporting proposal development, and presenting solutions to clients. Lead client meetings, presentations, business reviews, and commercial negotiations. Prepare proposals, estimates, and agreements in collaboration with product and delivery teams. Act as a strategic advisor to clients, understand their business priorities, and advocate for their needs internally. Establish a consistent engagement cadence with key accounts, including quarterly business reviews and regular client touchpoints. Monitor portfolio performance indicators such as revenue, client satisfaction, and active opportunities, and report on results. Collaborate with marketing on lead-generation initiatives, industry events, and client-facing activities. Partner regularly with product teams to align account management efforts and identify new business opportunities. Identify and address client tensions or dissatisfaction early, leading difficult conversations toward clear resolutions with support from relevant internal teams. Maintain rigorous follow-up across the pipeline and account plans while managing multiple priorities independently. Requirements: 8+ years of experience in business development, account management, or B2B sales. Relevant experience within digital services, software, technology, or a similar environment. Demonstrated ability to grow an existing account portfolio and close new business. Experience managing complex sales cycles involving senior decision-makers and multiple stakeholders. Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Excellent French and English proficiency, both written and spoken. Good knowledge of customer relationship management tools such as HubSpot. Active use of AI tools to improve professional efficiency, including account preparation, research, and content creation. Highly organized and rigorous approach to pipeline management, account planning, and follow-up. Ability to listen carefully to client needs before proposing solutions and build relationships proactively. Strong autonomy, commercial initiative, and ability to balance strategic client meetings with hands-on business development. Knowledge of the retail, convenience store, or loyalty program industries is a strong asset. Experience selling software development services or custom technology engagements is an advantage. An established network within target industries such as convenience retail or construction is a plus. Benefits: Five weeks of paid vacation. Unlimited sick days. Group insurance and telemedicine services. Collective RRSP program. Wellness account for eligible personal expenses. Annual training and professional development budget. Social activities and team-building initiatives. Flexible working hours, generally during daytime. Fully virtual meetings and a remote work environment.
