Drafter

We’re excited to welcome a CAD Drafter to our Engineering team! Whether you’re just starting your drafting career or have years of experience, this role gives you the chance to work on concrete water tank projects, create accurate 2D AutoCAD drawings, and contribute to real-world projects. You’ll collaborate with engineers and experienced drafters in a supportive, team-focused environment where learning, growth, and hands-on experience are valued. Pay: $24-32/hr (depending on experience) (~$50,000-$68,000 annually) + competitive benefits Employment Type: Full-Time, Hourly Location: Louisville, KY What You’ll Do Prepare and update AutoCAD drawing packages with guidance or independently, depending on experience Revise drawings based on redlines and feedback Create drawings for tanks, foundations, piping, formwork, components, and accessories Produce scaled details, bid packages, and as-built drawings Convert hand sketches into accurate AutoCAD drawings Communicate clearly with engineers and fellow drafters to coordinate drawing updates Manage your workload effectively while supporting teammates and asking for guidance when needed Meet drawing submittal deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality What We’re Looking For Required: 1-10+ years drafting experience with AutoCAD Proficiency in AutoCAD Strong attention to detail and organization Self-motivated, dependable, and eager to learn Team player comfortable collaborating and asking for guidance Preferred: Prior construction or fabrication experience Working knowledge with Excel Pipe or rebar detailing experience Why You’ll Love Working With Us Hands-on experience with real concrete water tank projects Mentorship and support from experienced engineers and drafters Opportunities to grow your drafting and technical skills A positive, collaborative team culture with a stable workload       Preload is an Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity Employer  – Minorities/Female/Disabled/Veterans committed to the principle of Diversity and is particularly interested in receiving applications from a broad spectrum of professionals for each open opportunity.
