Full Job Description

The Electrical Operator is responsible for performing electrical maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting activities to ensure the safe and reliable operation of electrical systems and equipment. The role supports planned maintenance, electrical isolations, LOTO activities, and emergency system testing in compliance with NR-10 and company procedures. The position also supports EX inspections and works closely with the E/I Supervisor and other departments to ensure operational safety and equipment reliability.

Responsibilities:

• Keep the E/I Supervisor informed of all developments and activities. Direct and work with the electrical operator. Liaise with other departments to ensure that electrical defects are dealt with properly.

• Inspect any contractor’s electrical equipment and maintain a register.

• Ensure that the electrical emergency systems are tested frequently and that they are in instantly available when required.

• Monitor and perform all electrical maintenance and repairs to ensure that they are carried out safely to an acceptable standard of workmanship in accordance with company procedures.

• Carry out Planned Maintenance when due and ensure that all records are kept up to date in accordance with the maintenance procedure.

• Other duties that are correlated to the function as directed and requested by E/I Supervisor Keep up certification applied to the function and medical certificates up to date.

• Attend Company training as defined. Perform all emergency duties assigned to their function, in response to the emergency, if applicable.

• Ensure compliance with BW procedures, applied to the function, including BW Permit to Work System.

• Need to be fully familiar and comply with Company Policies, Quality, HSE and all Procedures assigned to his title/position.

• Anticipate and notice any unsafe condition and assure that the correction actions are taken according to procedure.

• Responsible for your own safety and for the safety of your co-workers.

• Ensure full compliance with NR-10 requirements; including risk assessment, de-energization, and electrical isolation procedures during all electrical maintenance, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities

• Perform electrical isolation and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) of equipment prior to maintenance work, in accordance with NR-10 and the BW Permit to Work System, and confirm isolation status.

• Participate in EX Inspections Routine.

Requirements

Education

• Technical education required; Engineering degree is a plus.

Experience

• Offshore Experience requested. Preferable FPSO Experience.

Knowledge

• Knowledge of electrical power distribution and generation systems, including low- and high-voltage switchgear, protection relays, and circuit breaker coordination/discrimination

• Knowledge of hazardous area (Ex) equipment classification, inspection, and maintenance requirements, in accordance with IEC 60079

• Knowledge of acceptance and inspection criteria for third-party (contractor) electrical equipment
