Engineering Manager - Tradeify Platform

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Engineering Manager - Tradeify Platform based in Brazil. This is a hands-on engineering leadership role responsible for a core platform that supports a live, revenue-generating trading business. You will lead the team responsible for backend services, infrastructure, trading accounts, evaluations, third-party integrations, and APIs used by multiple product teams. The role combines people leadership with active technical involvement in architecture, code reviews, delivery, reliability, and production operations. You’ll work closely with Product, Data, and Engineering teams to scale the platform while maintaining speed, resilience, and service quality. Because the platform is already business-critical, you’ll balance new development with technical debt, operational stability, and evolving customer needs. Hire, onboard, mentor, and develop a team of backend and full-stack engineers. Conduct regular 1:1s, establish clear goals, provide direct and constructive feedback, and support ongoing career development. Own team performance management, including calibration and challenging performance conversations when necessary. Partner with Product to scope, prioritize, and plan platform initiatives, integrations, and technical improvements. Guide architecture decisions for scalable APIs, backend services, and microservices supporting integrations with third-party trading platforms. Remain hands-on with engineering work by reviewing pull requests, contributing to design discussions, evaluating technical approaches, and helping engineers resolve complex problems. Own delivery processes, including sprint planning, progress tracking, prioritization, and maintaining realistic commitments within a live production environment. Drive improvements in code quality, automated testing, development practices, and CI/CD processes. Own production reliability and observability for business-critical systems and lead incident response when issues occur. Identify and manage technical debt while balancing reliability, scalability, and delivery of new capabilities. Contribute to broader engineering standards, hiring practices, onboarding processes, and operational practices across the organization. Help shape how engineering teams hire, onboard, collaborate, and operate as the organization grows. Represent the platform team's priorities, constraints, technical debt, risks, and trade-offs during cross-functional planning. Collaborate with Data and other Engineering teams to ensure the platform continues to support evolving business and product requirements. Requirements Demonstrated experience managing or leading software engineers, combined with a strong hands-on software engineering background. Full-stack or backend development experience with technologies such as React, Next.js, Vue, Python, Node.js, C#, or Go. Strong experience building and operating REST APIs, WebSocket services, and third-party platform integrations. Familiarity with relational and/or in-memory data stores such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, or MongoDB. Experience operating production systems on AWS, GCP, or Azure, including Docker and Kubernetes. Demonstrated ability to operate, maintain, and scale distributed systems that are already in production and business-critical. Strong technical judgment and ability to make architecture decisions that balance scalability, reliability, maintainability, and delivery speed. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with non-technical stakeholders. Strong people-management capabilities, including hiring, coaching, performance management, feedback, and team development. Ownership-oriented approach with the ability to operate effectively in fast-moving environments and take responsibility for complex technical outcomes. Experience in fintech, financial markets, trading, or cryptocurrency is a plus. Familiarity with real-time systems and event-driven architectures using technologies such as Kafka, NATS, or Pulsar is advantageous. Experience with TimescaleDB or ClickHouse is a plus. Previous experience managing platform or infrastructure teams that provide services to multiple internal product teams is advantageous.
