BLEW & Associates is seeking an experienced Professional Engineer to lead the growth of our civil engineering and land development practice in an assigned market.
This position offers the opportunity to build a local practice with the support of a national firm providing engineering, land surveying, environmental assessment, zoning, and construction services. The Market Leader will develop client relationships, secure profitable work, guide project delivery, and build a strong engineering team.

Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a market growth plan focused on clients and project types that fit BLEW’s capabilities.
- Generate new engineering opportunities through established relationships, direct outreach, industry involvement, and collaboration with BLEW’s business development team.
- Expand relationships with existing BLEW clients by identifying engineering and related service needs.
- Lead client meetings, qualifications presentations, proposals, scope development, and fee negotiations.
- Coordinate project staffing and schedules with engineering leadership and project managers.
- Provide technical leadership in site development, grading, drainage, utilities, and permitting.
- Maintain accountability for client satisfaction, project budgets, scope changes, invoicing, and collection support.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop engineers and project managers as the practice grows.
- Maintain accurate pipeline forecasts and report regularly on backlog, revenue, profitability, and staffing needs.
- Support BLEW’s quality standards and professional engineering responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- Active Professional Engineer license in the applicable state.
- Typically 12 or more years of relevant civil engineering experience, including substantial local land development experience.
- Established relationships with developers, owners, architects, homebuilders, or other engineering buyers.
- Demonstrated success personally winning work and developing repeat clients.
- Experience leading profitable projects and mentoring technical staff.
- Strong understanding of local entitlement, permitting, and agency review processes.
- Ability to combine business development, sound engineering judgment, and team leadership.
