Hackathon format & key facts
Organized detailsOverview
A hybrid hands-on code optimisation hackathon on 7–9 October 2026 at ACC Cyfronet AGH in Kraków and online.
Complete hackathon details
The fifth EPICURE Hackathon brings developers, researchers and HPC/AI users together to improve real applications, models and workflows across CPUs, GPUs and multi-node systems. Participants meet assigned mentors, identify bottlenecks, optimise code and present technical progress and next steps.
Eligibility requirements
Research teams, developers, researchers, HPC specialists and AI practitioners from different scientific disciplines and levels of HPC experience are welcome to bring a real application, model or workflow.
Tips for this hackathon
Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.
- Bring a real application, model or workflow and identify the performance challenge you want to address.
- Read the rules, eligibility, judging criteria, required technologies and intellectual-property terms before forming your submission plan.
- Build a complementary team early and assign product, engineering, design, research and presentation responsibilities clearly.
- Optimize for the published judging rubric: demonstrate a real problem, working solution, measurable impact and a concise live demo.
- Prepare the repository, pitch deck, demo video and submission links before the final hours so upload or platform problems do not invalidate the entry.
- Check whether travel, finalist presentations, team-size limits or mandatory attendance apply before committing.
Verification notes
Verified on the official EPICURE event page. The page states Register now and confirms hybrid participation. No application deadline, fee, cash prize, certificate or travel support was stated on the reviewed page, so none is invented.
Job and Scholarship is the discovery and verification layer. Confirm eligibility, dates, salary/funding and application instructions on the original source before submitting anything.
