Wright and Morten Equine Vets, based in Cheshire are a well-established 9 vet team proving a large range of ambulatory and clinic-based services for our clients. Due to one of our experienced vets having a career change we are seeking to recruit a veterinary surgeon with minimum 1 year experience. Finding someone who is the right fit is very important to us as we are proud to be a close- knit supportive team.

Practice Highlights

  • A supportive friendly team
  • Very good work life balance with working hours 8:30am-5:30pm but vets are often finished by 5pm
  • Generous time off for weekends worked (5 days for 2 weekends)
  • You will enjoy clinical freedom with the back-up of our clinic team and friendly supportive ambulatory team.
  • Our team currently consists of certificate holders in Equine Orthopaedics, Equine Dentistry and Equine Lameness who are able to offer support with working up your own cases as needed.
  • Clinic facilities for inpatient care, elective surgery, in-house laboratory and a brew and a biscuit whenever it’s required.
  • A lovely client base of leisure and sports horses with a good proportion of insured clients.
  • Full range of ambulatory equipment available
  • Incredible nursing team who are able to assist vets in clinic and on yard as well as providing their own extensive range of duties.
  • Encouragement and support to expand knowledge and skill set

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.

You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Minimum 1 year experience
  • Confident with routine and ambulatory emergency work (remote support always available and structured help and training available if required)
  • Full participation in OOH rota on a 1 in 5 basis
  • Although full time is preferrable we will consider part time at a minimum of 3 days a week.

  • A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS
