Overview

The EU Delegation to Lao PDR is accepting individual photo entries on sustainable and inclusive plastic-free communities through 28 September 2026 at 23:59 GMT+7. The competition is open to all people residing in Lao PDR.

Complete competition details

Each participant may submit up to two original high-resolution JPEG or PNG photos. Entries must be 3–10 MB, at least 300 DPI and use a 3:2 or 4:3 aspect ratio. AI-generated or heavily AI-manipulated images are prohibited. Winners receive prizes from a total pool valued up to LAK 22,000,000 plus an EU Ambassador-signed certificate; the top 30 works are scheduled for public exhibition at Parkson Naga Mall on 2–8 October, and selected works may appear in the EU Calendar 2027. Winning entrants agree to transfer ownership rights of the submitted photos to the EU Delegation for public-diplomacy purposes.

Eligibility requirements

Open to all individuals residing in Lao PDR regardless of age, gender, nationality or profession. Entries must be individual rather than group submissions and must satisfy the official originality, format and theme requirements.

Tips for this competition

Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.

  1. Study the scoring criteria and previous winners before deciding what evidence, prototype, essay, research or portfolio will best support the entry.
  2. Confirm country, age, team, education and organization restrictions and whether one person may enter multiple submissions.
  3. Follow the required file format, word/time limits and naming rules exactly; technical non-compliance can disqualify a strong entry.
  4. Keep proof of submission and submit before the deadline rather than relying on the final hour.

Verification notes

Verified on the European External Action Service page dated 4 Sep 2026. It states the 28 Sep 23:59 GMT+7 deadline, Lao PDR residency eligibility, two-entry limit, image requirements, AI-image prohibition, prize pool and exhibition dates. No participation fee is stated, so no fee is invented.
