Overview
Lithuanian universities, research institutions and SMEs can join international Eureka biotechnology R&D projects, with up to €300,000 available for the Lithuanian project part.
Complete grant details
The 2026 Eureka biotechnology call supports market-oriented international R&D projects in biotechnology and related application areas. Lithuanian participation is funded by the Research Council of Lithuania. A Lithuanian higher-education or research institution may receive up to 100% support for eligible non-economic activity, while SME support depends on the activity and applicable intensity. Lithuanian proposals require an eligible research institution or university together with a mandatory SME and must satisfy both Eureka and Lithuanian national submission requirements.
Eligibility requirements
Lithuanian applicants may include SMEs, universities and research organisations under the national rules. For the Lithuanian national application, a university or research institution must participate together with a mandatory SME. The international consortium must also satisfy the Eureka call's transnational eligibility and project requirements.
Tips for this grant
Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.
- Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
- Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
- Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
- Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.
Verification notes
The Lithuanian national deadline is 25 September 2026 at 17:00 CEST, which is earlier than Eureka's international 23:59 CEST deadline on the same date; the earlier national deadline is used here and normalized to 15:00 UTC. Lithuanian funding is capped at €300,000 per project part.
