Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Executive Vice President of Operations - Helios HVACR Services based in the United States. This is a senior operational leadership opportunity focused on scaling a national, technician-driven field service platform while strengthening execution, profitability, and customer experience. You’ll work directly with the President to translate customer demand into productive field capacity, consistent service delivery, and sustainable growth. The role combines P&L ownership, field productivity, capacity planning, data-driven performance management, talent development, and operational transformation. You’ll lead across a geographically distributed organization while ensuring national consistency without creating unnecessary bureaucracy or weakening local accountability. A major focus will be developing stronger operating leaders, improving technician productivity, and building the systems and processes required to support continued organic growth and acquisitions. The successful leader will be highly analytical, commercially minded, visible in the field, and comfortable drilling into performance from company-level results down to individual markets, technicians, customers, and work orders. This is an onsite executive role in Maitland, Florida, with regular travel across the national operating footprint and a significant opportunity to shape the next phase of organizational growth.

Lead operational execution across a national field-service platform, balancing consistent service standards with strong local leadership and responsiveness. Deliver against the requirements of sophisticated national and multi-site customers, including service-level agreements, response times, not-to-exceed limits, documentation standards, IVR processes, work-order requirements, and customer-specific operating protocols. Build operating mechanisms that create consistent customer experiences across geographies while avoiding unnecessary layers of bureaucracy. Partner closely with national account and sales leadership to understand customer demand, service requirements, growth opportunities, and operational constraints. Develop a detailed understanding of customer-level performance and ensure growth opportunities are operationally executable and economically attractive. Strengthen customer relationships through reliable execution, responsiveness, transparency, and clear accountability. Establish a disciplined approach to managing field capacity, including technician headcount, skill mix, geography, leadership coverage, infrastructure, utilization, scheduling, dispatch, and routing. Diagnose capacity constraints and determine whether they are driven by staffing, technical capabilities, utilization, dispatch, training, leadership, or other operational factors. Improve technician productivity and utilization while reducing unnecessary travel time, callbacks, and other sources of lost capacity. Partner with recruiting, training, and field leadership to ensure the organization has the right technicians with the right capabilities in the right markets. Own operational and financial performance, connecting field-level drivers such as labor efficiency, technician utilization, material spend, subcontractor usage, fleet costs, pricing, project execution, and billing performance to revenue, margin, and cash flow. Strengthen project execution, work-in-progress management, billing velocity, and cash conversion while maintaining strong margin discipline. Lead a rigorous, data-driven operating cadence using business intelligence and operating systems to establish clear KPIs across company, region, market, leader, technician, customer, and work-order levels. Identify performance anomalies quickly, investigate root causes, and use leading indicators to drive corrective action rather than relying solely on month-end financial reporting. Build, coach, and develop a high-performing operating leadership team, strengthening the capabilities and accountability of field leaders and managers. Push decision-making closer to customers and technicians by establishing clear ownership, expectations, and accountability. Build a strong leadership succession pipeline and operating bench capable of supporting continued growth. Maintain a visible presence in the field and build credibility with technicians, frontline leaders, customers, and other key stakeholders. Support continued organic growth and strategic acquisitions by leading operational integration while preserving valuable customer relationships, local strengths, and execution speed. Identify scalable best practices and deploy them across the organization while maintaining appropriate flexibility for different customers, markets, and field conditions. Lead organizational change effectively by creating clarity, communicating the rationale behind changes, and maintaining momentum through periods of transformation. Build a repeatable operating model capable of supporting future growth while increasing productive capacity, improving customer performance, and strengthening financial results. Requirements: Significant senior leadership experience within a national or multi-site field-service organization with complex customer requirements and geographically distributed operations. Extensive experience leading large, technician-heavy or field-based organizations where workforce capacity, utilization, scheduling, dispatch, routing, and skill mix are critical to performance. Demonstrated direct P&L leadership with the ability to connect operational drivers to revenue, gross margin, operating profit, and cash flow. Deep experience managing field capacity and improving technician productivity, utilization, workforce planning, dispatch, routing, training, and service execution. Experience operating against demanding customer SLAs, response-time requirements, service protocols, and contractual expectations across multiple markets. Exceptional analytical capability and a demonstrated ability to use real-time operating data to identify root causes, diagnose performance issues, and drive measurable action. Strong understanding of the relationship between customer demand, technician capacity, service quality, operational execution, and financial performance. Proven experience scaling complex organizations through periods of growth, transformation, organizational change, and operational improvement. Demonstrated track record of developing strong operating leaders and increasing accountability deeper within an organization. Experience integrating acquired, decentralized, or independently operated businesses while creating consistency without unnecessary centralization. Strong commercial orientation, with the ability to balance customer experience, growth opportunities, operational capacity, and profitability. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the executive presence to work effectively with customers, ownership, frontline employees, and senior leadership. Low-ego, high-accountability leadership style with a focus on ownership, continuous improvement, and developing others. Curious and analytical approach to problem solving, with a preference for understanding root causes before implementing solutions. Strong bias toward action and demonstrated ability to move quickly from analysis and diagnosis to execution. Commercial HVACR, mechanical services, facilities services, or comparable technical field-service experience is strongly preferred, though exceptional national field-service operating experience from another sector may also be relevant. Willingness to work onsite at the organization’s headquarters in Maitland, Florida . Willingness and ability to travel regularly across the national operating footprint, customer locations, and field operations. Candidates outside commuting distance of Maitland must be willing to relocate to the Orlando/Maitland, Florida area . Benefits: Executive leadership opportunity with significant responsibility for national operations, organizational performance, and profitable growth. Full-time, onsite position based in Maitland, Florida . Regular travel across a national operating footprint, including customer locations and field operations. Opportunity to directly influence operational strategy, field productivity, customer experience, leadership development, and financial performance. Significant autonomy to build scalable operating systems, strengthen leadership capabilities, and shape the organization’s next phase of growth. Opportunity to support continued organic expansion and strategic acquisitions within a national field-service platform. Direct partnership with the President and senior leadership team. Opportunity to develop and strengthen a broad operating leadership organization and build a scalable succession pipeline.
