This is a 12 months fixed term contract.

What will you do?

To design intuitive, accessible, and consistent user interfaces and experiences for the Agency Service Portal by translating product requirements and user insights into wireframes, prototypes, and final UI designs that support product strategy and development.

• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to communicate design concepts and interaction flows across multiple touchpoints of the service portal, translating product requirements and briefs into clear, functional, and aesthetically considered interface designs.
• Design and maintain UI components and contribute to the evolution of the design system, ensuring visual consistency, accessibility, responsiveness, and scalability across the portal in line with design standards and brand guidelines.
• Use Figma and Adobe Creative Suite as primary tools for design production, prototyping, and collaboration, working closely with product managers and engineers to integrate design solutions into the product roadmap and development lifecycle.
• Participate in design critiques and visual reviews, iterating on designs based on stakeholder feedback and testing outcomes.
• Maintain design documentation, component libraries, and design playbooks to strengthen organizational design capabilities and ensure consistency, championing visual design quality and interface standards throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements

• 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in interface design, UX/UI design, or related fields.
• Proven experience in UI design, visual design, or a similar role.
• Strong proficiency in Figma for wireframing, prototyping, and design system management.
• Solid understanding of visual design principles, including typography, color, layout, and interface design patterns.
• Experience working within or contributing to a design system or component library.
• Ability to communicate and present design decisions clearly to both design and non-design stakeholders.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in product or digital environments.
• Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence for design tracking and documentation.

Preferred

• Experience in public sector or citizen-facing digital services.
• Familiarity with Agile or product development environments.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite for visual asset creation.
• Familiarity with front-end development concepts, including HTML, JavaScript (Angular, jQuery), and CSS frameworks, to facilitate closer collaboration with engineers.
• Knowledge of design tokens, theming, or scalable design system architecture.
