FACILITIES Rocket Lab’s Facilities team is responsible for maintenance, operations, and improvements projects across our locations, making sure that the facilities our teams use every day are well looked after and operating as they should. FACILITIES TECHNICIAN  Based onsite at Rocket Lab in Long Beach, California, the Facilities Technician is responsible for electrical maintenance, infrastructure upgrades, and electrical improvement projects at Rocket Lab's headquarters and Engine Development Center. WHAT YOU WILL DO Assist with the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and upgrade of building electrical systems (120V–480V, 3-phase systems) under the guidance of senior technicians. Support electrical infrastructure projects, including power distribution, panel upgrades, machine installations, lighting systems, and equipment tie-ins. Work closely with internal teams (Manufacturing, Engineering, EHS, Production, IT) to help define electrical requirements and support project timelines. Learn to read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and construction drawings. Assist in installing and modifying conduit systems, including bending conduit (EMT preferred; rigid and flexible conduit experience a plus). Support the sizing and selection of conductors, breakers, transformers, and distribution equipment in accordance with NEC and local codes. Help with equipment installations, including procurement support, layout planning, power drops, disconnects, and energization. Manage and update electrical work orders through JIRA, prioritizing tasks based on guidance from supervisors. Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with NEC, OSHA, and local building code requirements. Support oversight of contractors performing electrical work, ensuring standards are met. Assist with general facilities maintenance tasks as needed, including HVAC support, plumbing repairs, painting, minor construction, furniture relocation, and other duties to support site operations. YOU"LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma Some hands-on experience or coursework with mechanical and/or electrical equipment (internships, school projects, or part-time work welcome) Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS   Work in environments with electrical hazards, chemical exposure, temperature variations, and noise Wear required PPE as assigned, which may include safety glasses, gloves, respirators, and/or other protective clothing for extended periods Move between buildings, labs, and work areas, as needed Lift, carry, push and pull materials and equipment up to 25 lbs. unassisted Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and varied shifts as operational needs require  Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
