We are seeking a hands-on Facilities Technician to support the maintenance and operation of our depot facilities and infrastructure. Reporting to the Depots and Facility Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring AOR's facilities, plant, and equipment remain safe, reliable, and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance across facility systems and infrastructure.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and building assets.
  • Perform general building maintenance, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, and grounds upkeep.
  • Support facility shutdowns, equipment upgrades, and refurbishment projects.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using Maximo and other systems.
  • Assist with asset inspections, condition monitoring, and contractor management.
  • Respond promptly to facility breakdowns and service requests.
  • Promote and maintain a strong health, safety, and quality culture

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A trade qualification in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, building, or a related field (NZQA Level 4 or equivalent).
  • Relevant practising licence where applicable.
  • Experience in facilities, plant, or industrial maintenance.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and manuals.
  • Good computer literacy and experience with maintenance management systems.
  • A strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality outcomes.
