About Munich Electrification Munich Electrification is an innovative company founded with the aim of accelerating the transition to electric and connected mobility. We develop innovative electronic control units for electric vehicles and stationary storage systems for our global customers. Our international team is composed of highly motivated and exceptional engineers. As a small and specialized team we are well-aware of the importance of each individual colleague and support and promote each employee according to their abilities and needs. Our office with adjacent prototype and testing lab is located in the heart of Munich at the Heimeranplatz. This is what we stand for:

  • Technological Leadership: We challenge norms, innovate quickly, and anticipate future needs. We take smart risks and learn from outcomes to stay ahead.

  • Team Culture: We believe work should be enjoyable, fostering a spirit of inspiration, celebration, and teamwork across the globe.
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: We embrace change, think big, and push limits with passion. About the Role Are you a technical expert who thrives at the intersection of complex engineering and customer relations? As our Field Application Engineer (FAE), you will be the primary technical face of our company during the critical integration and development phases. You won’t just sit at your desk; you will be on-site with leading automotive OEMs and industrial giants, ensuring our Battery Management Systems (BMS) are integrated perfectly and performing at their peak. From deep-dive trace analysis using debugging tools to hands-on commissioning of high-voltage systems, you are the "bridge" that turns technical challenges into successful product launches. Your future tasks at a glance
  • On-site Expert: Lead commissioning and testing activities at customer facilities, ensuring our BMS integrates seamlessly with their powertrain or energy storage systems.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting: Perform complex trace analyses and debugging to identify root causes in communication or functional behavior.
  • Issue Management: Act as the first line of defense for customer claims; review technical issues and translate them into actionable Hardware or Software bug tickets for our R&D teams.
  • Rapid Response: Provide urgent on-site assistance for critical "line-down" or vehicle-level issues, acting as a calm and competent partner under pressure.
  • Strategic Representation: Represent our technical interests in customer meetings, building trust through engineering excellence and a solution-oriented mindset. What you bring with you
  • Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience in ECU development or automotive battery systems. You have a deep understanding of automotive protocols (CAN, Ethernet, UDS Diagnostics).
  • Toolchain Mastery: High proficiency with Vector tools (CANoe, CANalyzer) or similar debugging/trace analysis environments.
  • System Understanding: You understand basic circuit design and have a solid grasp of electric powertrain architectures.
  • Soft Skills: A confident, "customer-first" attitude with a high degree of self-organization. You can explain complex technical issues to both engineers and project managers.
  • Language: Fluency in English is mandatory; German is a significant advantage for our local OEM projects.
  • Mobility: High willingness to travel (approx. 50%) to support our partners on-site. Our Offer & Benefits The chance to be part of a highly innovative, agile, and unique team with prestigious customers in the automotive and battery storage sector. You will gain a deeper knowledge around connected & electric vehicle batteries, battery management and electronics development and strive in an exciting work environment Benefits (Full-time Employees):
