Scope Shape the financial strategy behind our product roadmap and manufacturing operations. We're looking for a Strategic Finance Manager to serve as the financial translator between Ambiq's chip business and leadership. You'll own product margin and revenue forecasting end-to-end and build the business cases behind R&D investment decisions — influencing company profitability on two fronts: gross margin optimization and R&D investment prioritization. You'll work directly with Sales, Marketing, R&D, Product Management, and Operations leadership — and have real influence on which products get funded, accelerated, or re-prioritized. This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to executive leadership and investor relations. What makes this role different: You're not just reporting the numbers — you're shaping product investment decisions through stage-gate reviews and business case development Direct line of sight to C-level decision-making and investor relations reporting Clear runway to grow into broader FP&A leadership Travel to Taiwan is expected to work with our operations counterparts there, including some late-night calls to align across time zones.       Responsibilities In partnership with the leadership team, develop the annual and long-range plan for revenue and margin. Own the product margin forecast and support Marketing and Sales in optimizing the revenue forecast to maximize gross profits. Proactively identify and resolve risks to revenue and margin projections by working with Department VPs. Partner with Accounting to reconcile actual to forecast costs and develop cost metrics for variable expenses. Lead the monthly budget-to-actual process for revenue and margin, and own the Quarterly Revised Forecast — using analytical techniques to support financial reporting and investor relations by explaining the drivers behind changes in the Company's results. Partner with Manufacturing and Operations to develop, evaluate, and prioritize business metrics (inventory management, product cost, ROI analysis), and support prioritization of yield improvement projects based on pareto analysis. Build financial models and business cases for R&D investment decisions — including ROI, payback period, and sensitivity analysis — to interpret business impact and inform management decisions; perform ad hoc margin analysis, ROI, and forecasts as needed. Build deep expertise in the company's products, customers, sales pipeline, and cost structure, becoming a trusted, go-to resource across the organization. Serve as the financial partner to Ambiq's Taiwan-based operations counterparts, including periodic travel to Taiwan and occasional late-night calls to align across time zones. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA a plus) 8+ years in a strategic finance role in FP&A or strategic finance supporting semiconductor manufacturing or operations specifically Demonstrated product cost/margin exposure in chip or hardware manufacturing Has built and owned forecast models end-to-end — not just contributed to someone else's — plus a track record of business cases and ROI analyses that influenced real business decisions Experience building R&D investment business cases, including ROI, payback period, and sensitivity analysis Strong business partnering skills — you're comfortable in a room with engineers, operators, and executives alike, and can translate financial complexity into a clear story Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, verifiable via a modeling exercise or portfolio walkthrough A detail-oriented, analytical mindset paired with the initiative to drive things to closure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment If you want a finance role where your analysis directly shapes product and manufacturing strategy — not just tracks it — we'd like to talk.   Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
