Financial Crime Analyst

Location: Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), Dubai, UAE

About Finseta Finseta is a global payments and foreign exchange business providing payment accounts, payment services and foreign exchange solutions to businesses worldwide.

As part of our continued growth within the UAE, we are seeking a Financial Crime Analyst to join our Compliance and Financial Crime team in the DIFC. The successful candidate will support the firm's Anti-Money Laundering ("AML"), Counter-Terrorist Financing ("CTF"), sanctions compliance and customer due diligence framework, helping ensure compliance with DFSA requirements and international regulatory standards.

Reporting directly to the Head of Compliance / Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), the role offers exposure to a broad range of financial crime activities across onboarding, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening and ongoing client reviews.

Responsibilities

Customer Due Diligence & Onboarding • Conduct customer due diligence ("CDD") and enhanced due diligence ("EDD") on corporate and individual clients. • Review corporate structures, beneficial ownership information and source of wealth/source of funds documentation. • Perform sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening. • Identify and escalate higher-risk relationships requiring enhanced review. • Assist with customer risk assessments and client classification processes.

Ongoing Monitoring • Conduct periodic reviews of existing client relationships. • Review changes in ownership, business activities and transactional behaviour. • Support the firm's transaction monitoring and financial crime surveillance activities. • Investigate unusual or potentially suspicious activity and escalate findings where appropriate. • Maintain accurate records of reviews, investigations and compliance decisions.

Financial Crime & Regulatory Compliance • Support the implementation and maintenance of Finseta's AML, sanctions and financial crime framework. • Assist with sanctions screening and sanctions-related investigations. Support regulatory reporting and internal management information preparation. • Monitor developments in DFSA, UAE and international AML regulations and guidance. • Assist with internal audits, compliance monitoring reviews and regulatory examinations. • Support the MLRO and Head of Compliance with day-to-day compliance activities and other ad-hoc regulatory, financial crime and compliance matters as required.

Record Keeping & Governance • Ensure all customer files and compliance records are maintained in accordance with DFSA requirements. • Support management reporting and risk committee reporting. • Assist with updating policies, procedures and risk assessments. • Contribute to compliance projects and regulatory initiatives.

Requirements

Essential • Minimum 4 years' experience in Financial Crime, AML, Compliance or KYC. • Experience conducting customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence reviews. • Understanding of AML, sanctions and financial crime risks. • Strong analytical and investigative skills. • Excellent attention to detail and written communication skills. • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable • Experience within a payments, fintech, foreign exchange, banking or e-money environment. • Knowledge of DFSA, UAE Central Bank, FCA or equivalent regulatory requirements. • Experience reviewing financial institutions and regulated entities. • Experience using sanctions and screening platforms such as Comply Advantage, Risk Narrative/Lexis Nexis. • Experience conducting enhanced due diligence and risk assessments on high-risk clients and sectors, including gaming and gambling, CFDs, crypto/virtual assets and other higher-risk financial activities. • ICA, ACAMS or equivalent financial crime qualification.
