The 2027 PEARL call supports leading researchers building major research programmes at Luxembourg host institutions. Projects may last five to seven years with €3–4 million in FNR funding. Starting with PEARL 2027, candidates may currently be active in Luxembourg or abroad. FNR also requires strengthened institutional support including a permanent staff position and a tenure-track position. Pre-proposals are due 17 November 2026 at 14:00 CET; invited full proposals are due 16 February 2027 at 14:00 CET.

The programme targets leading researchers and requires joint submission by the candidate and an eligible Luxembourg host institution. Applicants must follow current PEARL limits, institutional support requirements and FNR eligibility rules.
