FNR's 2027 PEARL call supports leading researchers and Luxembourg host institutions with major long-term funding to establish or strengthen high-level research programmes.

PEARL projects run for five to seven years with an FNR contribution of EUR 3–4 million. For the 2027 call, candidates may currently be active abroad or within Luxembourg research institutions. The candidate and host institution submit jointly through the FNR Grant Management System; host support requirements include a permanent staff position and a tenure-track position.
Eligibility requirements
The programme targets leading researchers submitting jointly with an eligible Luxembourg host institution. The 2027 rules allow candidates currently based abroad or within Luxembourg research institutions. Lifetime resubmission limits are two PEARL submissions and one funded PEARL per candidate; applicants must follow the current call documents for full institutional and scientific requirements.

The EUR 3–4 million contribution and five-to-seven-year horizon are stated by FNR.
