Three doctoral-level Fulbright–Fogarty Public Health Fellowship awards in Nepal support 10 months of public-health and clinical-research training at approved research sites beginning in July 2027.

The fellowship runs mid-July through mid-May and is offered through the Fulbright Program and NIH Fogarty International Center. Fellows work with U.S. and Nepali mentor teams at approved Nepal research sites. Benefits match the Nepal Study/Research award: a $1,400 monthly stipend including housing, international travel, health benefits and one-time baggage, language, settling-in and research/materials allowances.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited doctoral-level programme such as MD, PhD, DDS or a comparable professional doctorate. By July 2027, health-professional students must have completed their third year, or PhD candidates must have completed Master's-level/qualifying-exam requirements. Nepal applicants may not have resided in Nepal for six months or more in the year before the grant and dual citizens of Nepal are ineligible. Projects involving human or animal subjects require applicable ethical approvals before research begins; health research in Nepal requires Nepal Health Research Council approval and may not involve direct patient contact.
