Full job description
The current FLTA programme places selected Filipino educators at U.S. universities for one academic year as Filipino-language teaching assistants while they take courses such as teaching methodology and American studies. Fulbright Philippines describes the programme as a full scholarship. It is non-renewable, dependents cannot accompany recipients under J-2 sponsorship, and participants must satisfy the two-year home-residency requirement after the exchange.
Requirements & qualifications
Applicants must be Filipino citizens, teachers of English or training to become English teachers, based outside Metro Manila, resident in the Philippines throughout nomination and selection, hold the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree with a good academic record, meet the stated English standard including TOEFL iBT 90, demonstrate the required professional qualities, be early-career educators with no more than seven years of teaching experience, and return to the Philippines after the nine-month programme.
