The open Regional STEM Fulbright-García Robles call supports eligible Mexican nationals from outside the Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey metropolitan areas to pursue a STEM master’s or doctorate in the United States beginning in August 2028.

The programme can include an intensive English course in the United States for 3–9 months subject to approval and budget, specified standardized-test and admission-application fee support, up to USD 37,000 per academic year for up to 18 months for a master’s degree or up to USD 25,000 per academic year for up to three years for a doctorate, Fulbright medical insurance, J-1 visa processing, and eligible pre-academic/enrichment activities.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must be Mexican nationals in STEM, be from and reside in eligible parts of Mexico outside the excluded Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey metropolitan areas (with the source's stated exception for temporary postgraduate study residence), and meet the regional call's academic and language requirements. The call requires a minimum average of 9 in the most recent completed degree and the current English-test ranges specified by COMEXUS. U.S. citizens/permanent residents and other excluded categories in the official call are not eligible.
