The Moldova Open Study/Research Award welcomes proposals across disciplines, with particular encouragement for areas including economics and business, computer science and cybersecurity, American studies, English education, agriculture, tourism, public health and cultural heritage. Grants begin in September and run for nine months. Candidates arrange their own host affiliation; preliminary contact is expected and an affiliation letter is recommended but not required at the application deadline.
Eligibility requirements
U.S. citizens who will hold at least a bachelor’s degree by the award start may apply under Fulbright U.S. Student rules. Bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral-level candidates are accepted for this award. Romanian or Russian is recommended but not required; applicants must explain how the proposed research is feasible without local-language proficiency when relevant. Dual citizens of Moldova are eligible.
