Overview
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers up to two nine-month Open Study/Research awards in Georgia for U.S. citizens with at least a bachelor's degree to conduct individually designed research, civic initiatives or creative/professional work with an appropriate Georgian affiliation.

The grant begins in September 2027 and lasts nine months. The official country page lists an estimated USD 1,800 monthly stipend and USD 5,070 in one-time allowances for excess baggage, research/materials, settling-in and local transportation, together with international travel and Fulbright health benefits. An affiliation letter is recommended but not required by the national application deadline.
Eligibility requirements
Eligible applicants include U.S. citizens who will hold at least a bachelor's degree by the award start date and otherwise satisfy Fulbright U.S. Student rules. Dual citizens of Georgia are not eligible, and residency in Georgia during the 12 months before the grant is not permitted. Foreign-language proficiency is not generally required unless needed to carry out the proposed project.
