Overview
Three Fulbright Open Study/Research grants for eligible U.S. applicants to conduct independent research in Barbados or one of the Eastern Caribbean countries administered by the U.S. Embassy in Barbados, including Grenada.
Complete fellowship details
Ten-month grants with flexible starts from August 2027 through March 2028. Estimated support includes USD 3,050 per month plus USD 4,200 in one-time allowances, including USD 2,700 for travel, transit, excess baggage and settling in plus a USD 1,500 research allowance. International travel, health benefits and eligible dependent support are also provided.
Eligibility requirements
U.S. citizenship and Fulbright U.S. Student eligibility apply. Bachelor's, master's and doctoral applicants are accepted. Applicants need a well-defined research project and must arrange an appropriate host affiliation; an affiliation letter is required at the application deadline. English is the official language across the participating Eastern Caribbean islands.
