The Nepal Fulbright Commission is accepting applications from eligible Nepali researchers and artists for up to nine months of research or an artistic project at a U.S. institution.

The award supports a maximum of nine months in the United States. The earliest planned start is 1 September 2027 and the latest start is 1 April 2028, with scholars returning after completion by 31 December 2028. Selected scholars receive J-1 sponsorship, J-1-compliant health benefits, round-trip international travel, and living, settling-in and professional-development support; one eligible dependent's flight may also be covered.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must be Nepalese citizens. Researchers must hold a doctorate awarded between 2012 and 2023 and have at least three years of postdoctoral experience. Artists do not require a PhD but must have equivalent professional training/experience, recognized professional standing and at least five years of experience. Proposed research or artistic work must be feasible within nine months, relevant to Nepal as specified by the programme, and applicants need suitable English proficiency. U.S. citizens/permanent residents including dual citizens are ineligible.
