Responsibilities

Design, build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs supporting KYC verification, identity authentication, and compliance workflows.

Lead the architecture and implementation of high-performance distributed systems capable of processing millions of global user verification requests.

Build and optimise risk assessment pipelines and case management systems supporting compliance operations.

Develop and maintain internal tooling and dashboards using React and TypeScript when needed, with a primary focus on backend engineering.

Design and build RESTful APIs and microservices that integrate with third-party KYC/AML vendors and internal data sources.

Contribute to architecture and technical design decisions, with emphasis on backend, data processing, AI integration and security.

Improve system reliability, performance, observability and engineering efficiency through automation and best practices.

Contribute to architecture and technical design decisions, with emphasis on backend, data processing and security.

Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code while conducting thoughtful code reviews.

Continuously optimise system performance, scalability, throughput and developer experience.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
3+ years of professional software development experience with a strong backend focus.
Solid backend development experience with Java (Spring Boot), Go, or similar backend technologies.
Experience integrating AI/ML models or LLM-powered tools into production systems — including model serving, inference pipelines, or AI-assisted automation workflows.
Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices at scale.
Strong understanding of relational databases, caching technologies, message queues and distributed system fundamentals.
Bilingual English/Mandarin is required to be able to coordinate with overseas partners and stakeholders.
