Tips for this phd opportunity

Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.

  1. Match your research background to the project, laboratory, supervisor and required methods rather than applying only from the title.
  2. Prepare a focused academic CV, transcripts, publications and research statement or proposal when requested by the official call.
  3. Confirm funding duration, stipend/salary, tuition coverage, start date and eligibility for international applicants.
  4. Contact a supervisor before applying only when the official instructions recommend or require it.

Verification notes

Verified against the University of Sarajevo call, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering announcement and the Optical and Quantum Communications Laboratory open-positions page. EURAXESS provides the detailed 27 September 2026 23:59 Europe/Sarajevo deadline, funding and eligibility, but its page footer currently renders 'STATUS: EXPIRED' despite the future deadline and fresh first-party UNSA/ETF pages listing the position as current/open. Applicants should confirm final availability with UNSA before submitting.
