Young people in Ireland can register for Gaisce, Ireland’s national youth award, and complete Bronze, Silver or Gold personal-development challenges spanning skills, community involvement, physical recreation and an adventure journey.

Gaisce is a non-competitive, self-directed youth development programme. Participants set goals with support from a President’s Award Leader and complete challenge areas over the required period for their chosen award level. Bronze, Silver and Gold have progressively longer commitments. After successful completion, participants receive a certificate signed by the President of Ireland as well as a Gaisce medal and pin. Gold Award completers are invited to the annual Gold Award Ceremony. Registration fees are EUR 15 for Bronze, EUR 20 for Silver and EUR 25 for Gold.
Eligibility requirements
Gaisce is designed for young people aged 14 to 25. Bronze registration is generally from age 14, Silver from age 15 and Gold from age 17, with limited peer-group exceptions described on the official award-level page. A participant must connect with a Gaisce Award Partner and have a President’s Award Leader supporting the award journey.
