Position Summary

The Vice President / General Manager – Operations is a senior executive responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, operational excellence, and financial performance of the manufacturing business. The incumbent will have full accountability for the Business P&L and will lead multiple manufacturing facilities, ensuring world-class performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, customer satisfaction, and sustainable business growth.

The role requires a seasoned manufacturing leader with extensive experience in Tier-1 Automotive manufacturing organizations. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, digital transformation, and continuous improvement while developing a high-performance culture aligned with the organization's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and overall direction for the manufacturing business, ensuring alignment with the organization's vision, objectives, and growth strategy.
  • Assume full ownership and accountability for the Business Profit & Loss (P&L), including revenue growth, profitability, EBITDA, budgeting, forecasting, cost optimization, and capital expenditure planning.
  • Lead and oversee all manufacturing operations across multiple facilities, ensuring world-class standards in production, quality, engineering, maintenance, supply chain, planning, logistics, procurement, warehouse management, health, safety, environment, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive operational excellence by implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Industry 4.0, automation, and best-in-class manufacturing practices to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and cost competitiveness.
  • Establish a culture of Zero Harm, Zero Defects, and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with all applicable statutory, customer, and international standards, including IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
  • Lead manufacturing strategy, capacity planning, plant optimization, process improvement, digital transformation, and expansion initiatives to support future business growth.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies that enhance productivity, improve asset utilization, maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and achieve operational KPIs.
  • Build strong relationships with OEM customers and key stakeholders, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, successful program launches, and achievement of delivery, quality, and commercial commitments.
  • Partner with Sales, Engineering, Finance, HR, and other corporate functions to support business growth, new product development, customer acquisition, and operational integration.
  • Drive supplier performance, strategic sourcing, inventory optimization, and supply chain resilience while ensuring uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
  • Lead organizational transformation by fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and operational discipline.
  • Monitor business performance through financial and operational dashboards, identify risks and opportunities, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure effective corporate governance, regulatory compliance, risk management, business continuity, and adherence to company policies and ethical standards.
  • Perform any additional executive responsibilities assigned by the Chief Executive Officer to support the organization's strategic priorities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering.
  • Minimum 15+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role such as Plant Head, Operations Director, General Manager, or Vice President.
  • Mandatory experience in Tier-1 Automotive / Manufacturing companies supplying global OEMs.
  • Experience in establishing and leading Greenfield manufacturing projects, including plant setup, commissioning, and operational readiness, will be an added advantage.
  • Proven track record of leading multiple manufacturing facilities with full Business P&L responsibility.
  • Strong expertise in TQM, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, Operational Excellence, Automation, and Digital Manufacturing.
