Our Client

Role Purpose
- To lead and control out client's operations including Sales in China based in Shanghai, with full P&L responsibility (including FQT & BQS revenue streams)
- This is a general management role, reporting to the AMEA Managing Director, with responsibility for all Shanghai resources and a clear commercial focus and responsibility to deliver sales growth in China.
Role Description
- Lead and control Shanghai operations, planning and supervising resources including people, equipment and finances
- Provide leadership and motivation to Shanghai team including personal development and training within the budget set in the Business Plan
- Direction of day-to-day work to ensure samples are tested and reported within given deadlines
- Full P&L responsibility, including preparation and management of budgets
- Ensure Shanghai financial performance meets Business Plan via budgeting, cash management and financial control activities under supervision of AMEA MD and within the framework of approved plans defined by CFO and within the firm's Financial Policy and Guidelines
- Preparation of CAPEX plan to replace/upgrade laboratory equipment with a focus on automation and new measurement technologies
- Identify innovative services for existing customer base and business cases for organic business development for review by AMEA MD and approval by GLT
- Lead and control Shanghai Sales Team to meet sales targets, under direction of Group Commercial Director to deliver top-line growth via both volume increases and pricing
- Attend relevant Conferences and represent the company on industry bodies and reporting the activities to relevant teams
Reporting Line & Location/Travel
- Reports to the AMEA Managing Director
- Line manages heads of departments and other support staff with ca 10 FTEs under direct management
- Location is Shanghai, with some travel across China and infrequent travel to the company's global locations (principally Singapore, Rotterdam, Houston, Manchester)
Deliverables from Role
- Deliver the Business Plan for Shanghai/China Region (Revenue & EBITDA)
- Ensure Shanghai/China Region sales targets are met via business development by service line (FQT, BQS, OCM and decarbonisation) including volume and pricing metrics
- Identify opportunities to grow the business (e.g. expanding current customer base, fuel suppliers, etc.)
Requirements
Knowledge & Skills
- Preferable to have BSc level qualifications or equivalent experience
- Preferable to have specific knowledge and demonstrable experience of the following:
- Commercial/Sales
- Marine (customer side)
- Fuels (i.e. Downstream Oil & Gas) knowledge, specifically testing
- Oil Condition Monitoring
- Testing & Inspection sector knowledge
- BQS knowledge (may be derived from Cargo Inspection experience)
