Overview

The Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia is accepting institutional proposals from four named regional state universities for research, science-event and research-infrastructure projects.

Complete competition details

The 2026 RSU call supports applied or fundamental research in agricultural sciences, pedagogy and tourism, international scientific events/science popularization, and improvement of research infrastructure. Applied and fundamental research projects may run for 12 or 24 months; the other tracks run for 12 months. Electronic registration is open from 1 September through 25 September 2026 at 16:00, followed by a Foundation chancellery participation statement due 2 October at 18:00.

Eligibility requirements

Institutional proposals may be submitted only by Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University, Samtskhe-Javakheti State University, Gori State University, or Shota Meskhia Zugdidi State University. Eligible priority fields are agricultural sciences, pedagogy and tourism.

Tips for this competition

Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.

  1. Study the scoring criteria and previous winners before deciding what evidence, prototype, essay, research or portfolio will best support the entry.
  2. Confirm country, age, team, education and organization restrictions and whether one person may enter multiple submissions.
  3. Follow the required file format, word/time limits and naming rules exactly; technical non-compliance can disqualify a strong entry.
  4. Keep proof of submission and submit before the deadline rather than relying on the final hour.

Verification notes

Official Foundation call page verified on 8 September 2026. Electronic registration is currently open and the source states a 25 September 2026 16:00 cutoff, but it does not explicitly label the timezone; therefore the structured deadline keeps the authoritative date without inventing a UTC conversion.
