Google is hiring a Program Manager, Climate Operations to join its Climate Operations team in Gurugram, India.

The successful candidate will help anchor Google’s regional clean energy and net-zero strategy, supporting the scaling of clean power deployment across its data centre footprint in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

APAC is a key region for Google’s operational and value chain decarbonisation roadmap and other climate-related goals.

The Program Manager will lead strategic projects and provide high-impact analysis and deliverables that help evolve the company’s regional strategy and accelerate carbon reduction.

Key responsibilities

The Program Manager, Climate Operations will:

• Provide strategic and technical oversight for Google’s carbon reduction, clean energy and water strategy across APAC.

• Drive cross-functional collaboration to develop and execute strategic initiatives supporting Google’s net-zero and related sustainability commitments.

• Lead engagement with external experts and industry partners to advance regional climate priorities.

• Manage an evolving portfolio of strategic projects and initiatives that advance the Climate Operations organisation and its core objectives.

• Translate strategic insights and recommendations into action by working with stakeholders, including cross-functional leadership.

• Partner with external experts to help shape perspectives on carbon, energy and other climate-related initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should have:

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in program or project management.
• 5 years of experience with carbon accounting and methodologies or energy markets.

Preferred Qualifications

Google is particularly interested in candidates with:

• 10 years of experience in climate science, Greenhouse Gas (GHG) standards and accounting, or the energy industry.

• 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.

• Experience leading and executing complex strategic and operational initiatives for large organisations.

• Experience developing data-driven insights and translating and presenting them into meaningful recommendations for multiple audiences, including C-suite executives.

• Strong organisational skills and an execution-oriented approach.

Google’s Global Sustainability team works to enable the company to build a more sustainable future by developing and implementing its global sustainability strategy.

The team works across areas including carbon, circular economy, water, product integration, sustainability reporting and employee engagement, while supporting sustainability leadership internally and externally.

The Climate Operations Program Manager will contribute to this work by helping accelerate clean energy deployment, carbon reduction and broader decarbonisation efforts across APAC.
