The Radcliffe Fellowship is a residential academic-year fellowship in Cambridge/Boston. For 2027/2028, fellows receive a $78,000 stipend and $5,000 in project expenses. The Institute also describes possible relocation, housing and childcare assistance and healthcare support as needed, together with office/studio space and Harvard/Radcliffe access. This record is specifically for science, engineering and mathematics, which use a 1 October 2026 deadline. Humanities, social sciences, creative arts, nonfiction and journalism use an earlier September deadline and are represented separately.
Eligibility requirements
Science, engineering and mathematics applicants generally must have earned a doctorate in the relevant area at least four years before the fellowship appointment and must meet Radcliffe's scholarly-output threshold, which includes at least five peer-reviewed articles. Current degree students are not eligible. Applicants who have held a Radcliffe Fellowship from 1999 onward are not eligible to apply again. Applicants must be able to participate in the residential fellowship according to the Institute's current rules.
