ABOUT THE ROLE This is a design leadership role at the intersection of AI agents and industrial procurement, sitting inside a fast-growing product organization. You will define how buyers supervise, steer, and collaborate with AI agents executing complex procurement workflows, making high-stakes cost decisions legible and trustworthy. The work directly shapes profitability for large industrial customers and sets the standard for human-AI collaboration in the product. WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Define the interaction paradigm for an agent-native product, where AI executes procurement workflows and humans supervise and handle exceptions.
- Develop mental models, UI patterns, and frameworks that translate complex procurement concepts (cost breakdowns, raw material indices, contract leakage) into accessible, actionable UX for non-analyst users.
- Own and evolve the design system and component architecture to support agent-driven development and rapid iteration.
- Build, hire, and lead a team of approximately four product designers, setting standards for craft, speed, and strategic impact.
- Establish design as a strategic partner in the product trio alongside product management and engineering.
- Drive company-wide user understanding by implementing UX research best practices and advocating for real user problems. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 6+ years in product design, with 2+ years leading a design team at a high-growth technology company.
- Deep experience designing data-heavy, workflow-driven products and making information density an asset rather than a liability.
- Strong systems thinking: you design in frameworks and reusable interaction patterns, not just individual screens.
- Genuine fluency designing AI-native experiences involving LLMs, agents, automation, and trustworthy human oversight.
- Proven ability to operate as both a strategic design leader and a hands-on product designer as the situation demands.
- Strong collaborator with product and engineering, with a track record of delivering outcomes in demanding, fast-moving environments.
- Fluent in English; German language proficiency is a plus. LOCATION On-site in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. Visa sponsorship is not available.
